Caroline in the City

Minneapolis/Southern California native Caroline Hwang now lives in the craftier confines of Brooklyn, where she sews, stitches, cooks, and thinks. Like many of us, Hwang grew up in a crafty family, watching her grandmother crochet and knit. She channels her past and present into embroidered collages about human relationships that are by turns emotional, cinematic, poignant, dark, and witty. March 25th will see her newest solo show, Wounded but not Broken at Giant Robot in New York. The current show at Giant Robot is by Fort Thunder artist Leif Goldberg, so check it.
