A compendium of craft masquerading as art, art masquerading as craft, and craft extending its middle finger.

Revenge of the Quiltbots

While I was taking a little Google "derive" this morning, I found an interviewon the website of the Alliance for American Quilts with Kathy Weaver, the maker of robot quilts I mentioned back in March. The article is a great mix of the technical and philosophical--she talks about how Miriam Schapiro and Judy Chicago came to influence her quiltmaking. It's inspiring to see that a repository for traditional quiltmaking would put forth an effort to archive the thoughts of a quiltmaker coming from an artcentric point of view.
